So sorry Herb, but I have to disagree with this
gentleman. The Republican party may have been an
abolitionist party, but Lincoln could not have cared
less about slaves or slavery and considering the
legislature of that time, it does not appear that the
party cared overmuch either. The Congress of the United
States was more than willing to throw slaves "under the
bus" with the Crittenden-Johnson Resolution and the
Corwin Amendment, which would have made slavery a
CONSTITUTIONAL right. All of the North voted for it. Who
rejected what would have been the 13th Amendment to the
Constitution? The states of the South. The war was over
the Constitutionality of the States RIGHT to secede (or
not). Please do not mis-understand me. Slavery was an
institution that the Southern states were not yet ready
to do away with, but slavery was ending all over the
world and it would have in the South as well. It just
would not have cost nearly 700,000 lives to do it. No
other country went to war over freeing their slaves and
there is no EARTHLY reason that it would have been done
in USA either. The war was over (1) Money, (2) Power,
(3) Control. |

Your video by Bill Whittle is not true history. It's
Republican propaganda and untrue history. Whittle
presents the same untrue history that our Confederate
ancestors stood against before, during and after the War
For Southern Independence. John Stevens is a Republican.
Stevens and Whittle are much alike in their beliefs and
thinking. Conservative? Baloney, neither Stevens or
Whittle are true conservatives. Stevens is President of
the Pachyderm Club. Here, take a look:

John Stevens, the so-called conservative Republican in
Wichita is the one who caused the Confederate flag to be
removed from the Veterans Memorial Park in Wichita.
(Removing Confederate flags is liberal and Republican,
not conservative).
The modern Democrat Party is the product of Republican
Reconstruction. The modern Democrat is a reconstructed
Democrat. There are very few Jeffersonian Democrats even
in existence nowadays. Certainly there are none in
Washington DC that I'm aware. Today's Democrat party was
reformed by the Republican Party.
It was the Republicans who were against the Founders. It
was Republicans and modern Democrats who are leading to
remove Confederate monuments and Confederate flags. They
are working together to continue the dismantling America
as Lincoln began in 1861.

both reject the Confederates and Founders.
